Adam Hanga announces retirement from the Hungarian national team

After 17 years with the senior Hungarian national team, Adam Hanga officially announced his retirement.

“This has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I am endlessly grateful for the journey we have taken together. From the first moment I put on the national jersey, I gave my all on the court. Every win, every challenge, and every moment has shaped me not only as a player but as a person”, he said.

Adam Hanga also picked one specific tournament among his best memories. “EuroBasket 2017 stands out in my memories, it was an incredible experience that I will cherish forever”, he also added.

At EuroBasket 2017, where Hungary reached the Eight-Finals, he averaged 14.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

Currently playing with Joventut Badalona, the 35-year-old experienced player previously stayed with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Crvena Zvezda as well in the EuroLeague.

In the 2024-25 BKT EuroCup, Hanga has has been putting up 6.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game with the green-and-black Catalan representative.
