American center Moses Wright is set to officially begin his international career with North Macedonia, reinforcing the senior national team ahead of the upcoming EuroBasket 2029 Pre-Qualifiers.
The 27-year-old former Georgia Tech standout recently obtained his passport, turning the page on a previous pursuit that nearly saw him secure citizenship with Cyprus.
In a twist, the naturalized big will now find himself competing directly against the Cypriot national team, as both nations have been drawn into Group F for the second round of the Pre-Qualifiers alongside Austria.
Wright’s duties will commence shortly, with his side scheduled to tip off their group campaign against Austria in Vienna on August 30.
His commitment has naturally altered his club schedule. His new team, Armani Olimpia Milan, formally announced that the center will be absent from the start of their training camp on Wednesday to fulfill his national obligations.
The approaching FIBA window will see Wright working under the guidance of Josep Maria Berrocal, who has worked for several EuroLeague clubs, including FC Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, and Panathinaikos.
This move adds another prominent chapter to his journey. Since a brief four-game stint in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers during the 2021–22 Regular Season, the athletic center pivoted overseas. He has since established himself as a force in Europe, accumulating 77 career appearances in the EuroLeague split between Olympiacos and Zalgiris, and is ready to transition to Milan for the 2026–27 Regular Season.
