The president of the Spanish Basketball Federation, Jorge Garbajosa, said Wednesday in a meeting with the Spanish press that he plans to apply for Spain to be one of the organizers of Eurobasket 2021.
Garbajosa, who was elected as president of the FEB on 9 July, said that Spain will bid to host one group of Eurobasket 2021, like it happens in 2015 and will also happen in 2017 with four countries co-hosting the tournament: “In recent years European championships are held in several countries, we want to be one of them,” said Garbajosa.
Meanwhile according to many reports in Spain, the federation intends to extend the contract of coach Sergio Scariolo and keep him on the bench of the national team.
