The reigning champions proved once again in a friendly rematch of the 2011 Eurobasket semifinal that they are still the team to beat. Spain prevailed over FYROM (66-60) as Marc Gasol had his way in the paint (17 p., 8 r.). Both teams had a bad shooting night, as it’s evident from the final score.
However, the big news concerning the upcoming Eurobasket are coming from Italy, as it was officially announced that Andrea Bargnani will miss the tournament. The player was out of the team since the 7th of August due to respiratory infection and he will not be ready to compete in Slovenia. It’s the third big loss of the team after Gallinari and Hackett before the “Eurobasket of absences”
