A game between Lithuania and Russia is always special and this time Lietuva exposed the problems of team Russia by getting the 82-51 win. Toronto’s Jonas Valanciunas was the best player of the game with 17 points and 8 rebounds. He also had some tense moments against veteran Russian center Aleksey Savrasenko (photo).
In the same tournament, which was conquered by host Lithuania, Finland beat Czech Republic (98-89) as Petteri Koponen scored 23 points. Italy had also a relatively easy task in the game against Montenegro. Spurs’Marco Belinelli with 21 points was the top scorer in the 89-73 win.
