Serbian NT coach Dusan Ivkovic stated today that his team’s goal can’t be something more than the ticket to next summer’s FIBA World Cup, meaning at least the 7th place in Eurobasket 2013, and he has a reason to do so.
His starting point guard, Stefan Markovic is hurt on his back, he will miss the upcoming game against France and nobody knows yet when he will be able to return to court. At this point his situation is considered day to day, but Serbian media don’t exclude the possibility of him missing the rest of tournament, because he had also back problems a year ago.
It has to be noted that Serbia entered Eurobasket 2013 without its star point guard, Milos Teodosic of CSKA Moscow, who was also injured and didn’t get medical clearance for the tournament.
