The possibility of becoming a free agent if he chooses to opt out of his current contract with the Denver Nuggets won’t stop Danilo Gallinari from joining the efforts of the Italian national team in the Eurobasket.
“I will play there,” he said in an interview for La Gazzetta dello Sport. “There’s no reason for me to miss the Media Day of the team on July 20 in Milan.”
“The only thing that prevented me from playing with the national team in the past had to do with physical problems. It’s the only thing that would stop me in the future too. The issues with contracts have never prevented me being there. The national team is beyond anything,” he added.
And will he pick the option of becoming a free agent or continue with the Nuggets for the last season of his contract? “I haven’t decided yet. But I’d like to continue cultivating the dream of winning with this franchise.”
