The Dirk Nowitzki days are now gone for Germany’s national team but its up and coming leader declares present once more.
Dennis Schroder announced that he will be available in the EuroBasket 2017 during a press conference held today (29/5) in his home town of Braunschweig, per BBL-Profits.de.
“I will definitely play this summer,” said Schroder. “Listening to the [German national] anthem is a good feeling. I’ve not heard it for a long time and it’s getting time to listen to it again.”
The 23-year-old guard of the Atlanta Hawks last played for his country’s national team in the previous EuroBasket edition of 2015. He averaged 15.3 points, 5.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game but Germany didn’t make it past the first stage and a difficult Group which also included Spain, Turkey, Italy, Serbia and Iceland.
