Andrea Bargnani returned to Europe last year hoping to rekindle his career by playing in the EuroLeague with Baskonia.
However, certain injuries and physical problems didn’t allow him to reach the levels of performance he hoped for and the Spanish club released him before the completion of the season.
These issues also prevent him from playing in the EuroBasket, per an official announcement he posted on his Twitter profile.
“After a complex year from a physical point of view, the recovery plan foreseen for the coming months makes it – unfortunately, and with regret – non practicable to participate in the commitments of the national team”
The Italian center had finished the 2015 EuroBasket averaging 14.8 points per game while Italy finished at the 6th plae.
