The Spanish federation announced the pre-selection of the team which includes Pau and Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Sergio Rodriguez, Sergio Llull, Alex Abrines, Fernando San Emeterio, Juancho and Willy Hernangomez, Nikola Mirotic and Juan Carlos Navarro who are expected to be part of the final team and will start training at the 28th of July.
Before that Pau Ribas, Pierre Oriola, Joan Sastre, Guillem Vives, Dani Diez, Xavi Rabaseda, Alberto Abalde, Ilmane Diop, Victor Arteaga, Quino Colom, Alberto Diaz, Jaime Fernandez, Ruden Guerrero, Nacho Llovet, Oriol Pauli, Sebas and Sebas Sainz will train between 16 and 23 of July. Those are players who are expected to be used mainly in World Cup qualifying games anhd one of them will complete the final Eurobasket roster.
Juan Manuel Calderon who has retired, Rudy Fernandez and Felipe Reyes who want to rest, Serge Ibaka who can be used as a naturalized player – Mirotic got the spot – and also injured Victor Claver are the big names who are missing the pre-selection.
