It may not have been a game against a grand and illustrious opponent but perhaps it can still be interpreted as a sign of things to come for the absolute wunderkind of European basketball.
With Luka Doncic scoring a game-high 14 points plus notching six rebounds and four assists in just 13 (!) minutes, Slovenia beat Russia’s national university team 79 – 63 to kick off its preparation for the EuroBasket in a victorious manner.
Anthony Randolph, Doncic’s teammate in Real Madrid dropped 12 points and Miha Lapornik added 10.
Vyacheslav Brikin had 13 points for Russia.
