Giorgos Printezis and Nikos Pappas dropped 12 points each and Dimitris Agravanis added 10 as Greece beat Great Britain 92 – 64, playing in front of its home crowd in the city of Patras.

The British squad was outmatched for the vast majority of the game, save for the third quarter when the reserves managed to win the period 17 – 15. Yet their opponents answered back in a fiery manner in the fourth (13-26) to turn the game into a blowout.

Gabe Olaseni showed once again why he’s going to be a focal point at the EuroBasket for the Brits, scoring 13 and grabbing 8 rebounds. Daniel Clark added 12 points and Kavel Bigby-Williams 11 plus 5 rebounds.

From the winning squad, Giannis Papagiannis pitched in 9 points and 7 rebounds while Kostas Mitoglou made his debut at a senior level with 6 points.

Greece’s superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was once again sidelined and it was a pity since that game would be an opportunity to face Great Britain’s head coach Joe Prunty, also an assistant in the Milwaukee Bucks, as an opponent.
