Emir Mutapcic, the assistant coach of Svetislav Pesic at Bayern Munich, is the new national team coach of Germany as the basketball federation of the country announced. The 54 years old Bosnian will lead the team in the qualifying round of Eurobasket 2015.
The former national team coach, Frank Menz, returned to his previous position on the bench of the U20 German national team. BEKO BBL and Bayern Munich has allowed Mutapcic to have a two month period during the summer in order to work with the national team. Two previous national team coaches, Svetislav Pesic and Dirk Bauermann, had resigned from their positions, according to BBL regulations, when they had accepted the head coach position of Bayern.
