Croatia edged Hungary after a highly competitive battle, grabbing a 58-67 win.
The star: Bojan Bodganovic pulled Croatia to a difficult win with 23 points and 7 rebounds.
Turning point: Croatia struggled a lot in the second quarter and could only find a one-point lead at 18′ (31-32), yet Hungary fought back throughout the game. Croatia’s low field-goal percentage combined with their opponents’ energy kept the teams close to one another until the end. A 3-point breather came from Marko Tomas, which expanded the lead to 6 points at 33′ (53-59) and since then Croatia kept short leads.
Key players: Dario Saric finished the game with 15 points. For Hungary, Zoltan Perl had 12 points.
Notable moment: Adam Hanga got injured towards the end of the second quarter and went straight to the lockers, while he sat to the bench in the second half.
