The contract of the former Maccabi Tel Aviv coach expires after the tournament and according to numerous reports, it’s not expected to be extended.
The next coach of the Israeli national team is expected to be either Dan Shamir, an assistant of Edelstein in the national team, or Oded Katash, the former EuroLeague champion as a player with Panathinaikos, former national team star and currently the head coach of the Israeli U20 national team.
