The Greek-American guard with a total of 128 assists become the all time leader of the Greek national team in the Eurobasket tournaments.
Calathes left behind him four iconic Greek guards, longtime captain Nikos Zisis (120), Vasilis Spanoulis (120), Dimitris Diamantidis (68) and Theodoros Papaloukas (66), while Sloukas is currently in the 7th position.
It has to be noted that assists are recorded since 1995 in Eurobaskets, so it’s more than probable that also the legendary duo of Panagiotis Giannakis and Nikos Galis belongs in the top spots of the list.
