Pau Gasol broke Tony Parker’s record and became the No. 1 scorer in the history of the EuroBasket. The 37-year old has has an exceptional career thus far in both the NBA and his Spanish National Team, however in FIBA tournaments he simply can’t lose.
The 7’3” center has played against 37 different National Teams in FIBA competitions. He has a 100 percent winning record against 26 of them. Those include Argentina, Greece, Slovenia, Australia and China. He’s 18-0 against them. Only against two teams he has a negative record. Those are Puerto Rico (0-1) and the United States (1-4).
In more detail, Pau Gasol has played since 2001 in the senior Spanish National Team and has lost only to ten teams in his career. The table below shows his record against the 37 teams he has played in.

The only team he has failed to beat on an international level is Puerto Rico and that’s probably a coincidence, because he has played only one game against them. The United States have defeated Gasol’s Spain four times, in crucial games and finals of the World Cup and the Olympics, but Gasol beat them back in the 2002 World Cup. Puerto Rico defeated Spain in the same competition, in September 3rd, 2002, 73-65.
With this kind of record, it’s not a surprise that Gasol has won three Eurobasket, three Olympic medals and a World Cup title in 2006.
