As it was officially announced today, Mike Fratello will remain the head coach of Ukrainian NT for the upcoming Eurobasket. The veteran American coach is the head of this project for the last five years and the upcoming summer was supposed to be the big chance of his team to compete even for the top.
However, due to the political situation in the country, Ukraine lost the hosting of the tournament, which will be organized for the first time in four different countries. Still Fratello will stay on the bench of the Ukrainian national team and so far his cooperation with the head of the federation, his former player in Atlanta Sasha Volkov, has only positive results.
