Rytas Vilnius used a late surge and defeated visiting AS Monaco 80-75 in Round 3 of 7DAYS EuroCup’s Top 16, grabbing their second victory.
Terrell Holloway led the winning side with 13 points, while Arnas Butkevicius filled the stat sheet with 11 points, six assists and four rebounds for a PIR of 22.
Monaco’s Jaleel O’Brien and Norris Cole posted 23 and 21 points apiece, though couldn’t help the French side move on with their second victory, as Butkevicius came in clutch in the final period to save the hosts and pace them to the victory.
Earlier on Wednesday, UNICS Kazan stormed past Galatasaray Doga Sigorta Istanbul with a 94-69 victory, tying Rytas on the top of the group’s standings.
Errick McCollum led five more players of the Russian side in double digits with a team-high performance of 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists. On the other end of the court, Tai Webster paced Galatasaray with 22 points.
UNICS used a great team performance in the first half (51-33 at halftime) to defend their homecourt and set the foundations for a great victory in the battle for the quarterfinals.
