Unicaja Malaga swingman Axel Toupane will miss the next three months due to a partial rupture of his left leg’s Achilles tendon, the club announced. The French player was injured during the first half of Sunday’s (16/2) Copa del Rey Final against Real Madrid.
Toupane will thus miss the remainder of the season in EuroCup and the rest of the regular season in the Spanish ACB League. He was averaging 9.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19:28 minutes over 13 games in EuroCup plus 6.3 points, and 3.1 rebounds in 17:17 minutes over 20 games so far in Spain.
