Promitheas did not want to worry about clinching scenarios, marched to the 97-72 road win against EWE Baskets Oldenburg instead. Wrapping up 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 with a “W” also means Group F first place for the team coached by Makis Giatras.

Shooting over 65% from the field made out an easy path for the Greek outlet. The main offensive enforcer was Langston Hall with 20 points behind 7/8 field goals and eight dimes. Loukas Mavrokefalidis scored 19 points and Leonidas Kaselakis 17.

The home defeat eliminated the hosts. Rasid Mahalbasic did his best for his side and the Grosse EWE Arena crowd, but his team-high 16 points were not enough. Tyler Larson followed with a 12-point showing.

The second spot was claimed by Umana Reyer Venezia thanks to the 93-88 away win versus Germani Brescia Leonessa in the other Group F match.

Behind closed doors at the PalaLeonessa, Walter De Raffaele’s club dropped an early double-digit lead but got back on track in the second half and firmly held on knowing that even losing up to seven points would be enough to advance.

Stefano Tonut paced the winners with a season-high 20 points. Mitchell Watt contributed with 17 points of his own and Andrea De Nicolao threw in 16 points and nine assists. Awudu Abass and Travis Trice shared a team-high 16 points in losing effort.
