Nothing was at stake in the game between Joventut Badalona and Unicaja Malaga that concluded the Top 16 stage in Group H. Neither for these two teams nor for Tofas Bursa and Morabanc Andorra, since the spots in the standings are set.
Still, Badalona played at home and wanted to go out with a bang. And that’s what the Catalan side did by defeating Malaga 101 – 85 in their last game in the competition for the season.
Six Badalona players scored in double figures. Xabi Lopez-Apostegui led the way with 20 points and Klemen Prepelic added 15 points and five assists. Nenad Dimitrijevic finished with 12 points plus five rebounds, Conor Morgan dropped 12 points, Kerem Kanter 11 points and Arturs Zagards 11 points.
Dario Brizuela had a game-high 23 points while Adam Waczwynski and Melvin Ejim scored 14 apiece for the injury-plagued Malaga.
In Bursa, Tofas beat Morabanc Andorra 97 – 94 behind 22 points and six rebounds by Devin Williams. Dejan Todorovic (14 points) and David Jelinek (14 points) were Andorra’s top scorers.
