Following his departure from the role of Rytas Vilnius’ sports director, Linas Kleiza officially conveyed his shares, the Lithuanian club announced on Friday.
“Rytas has been, is and will be important to me,” he said, “After taking over a club with large debts three years ago, we achieved strong results. We returned to the LKL finals, won the Lithuanian Cup, and reached the 7DAYS EuroCup quarterfinals. We gathered the most talented youngsters in the country in Vilnius. I hope that the organization continues its rise.”
Rolandas Jarutis will replace Kleiza in terms of managing the Lithuanian outlet as the sports director.
The press release additionally notes that talks for the next season have been launched with players and head coach Dainius Adomaitis.
As for the 2019-20 season, Rytas failed to advance to the EuroCup playoffs ending up third in the Top 16 Group G, also ranked second in the LKL before the decision to cancel the remaining games.
