Isaiah Canaan inked a 1+1 contract to join UNICS Kazan, the Russian club announced on Sunday.
After 238 NBA games, the Murray State alum, 34th pick of the 2013 NBA draft, makes his way to Europe for the first time. Through UNICS he will compete in both the 7DAYS EuroCup and the VTB United League.
He split his NBA career between the Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Milwaukee Bucks. However, last season he was held to G League action averaging 21.4 points and 5.8 assists per contest with the Stockton Kings.
A fresh new challenge for Canaan heading into the 2020-21 campaign. He joins John Brown and Jordan Morgan in the building list of newcomers for the team based in the capital of Tatarstan.
