AS Monaco brought in Khadeen Carrington, the team announced Tuesday. The former Seton Hall standout and top scorer of the latest edition of Germany’s easyCredit BBL was released by TD Systems Baskonia last Friday.
“I am very happy to join Monaco and to debut in the very competitive French league,” he told his new team’s official site, “Tonye Jekiri mentioned in our discussions that it is a chance for me to work under a great coach in Monaco, Zvezdan Mitrovic.”
Carrington, 24, last played for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. He was set for his first Turkish Airlines EuroLeague run but will instead go through a second 7DAYS EuroCup stint following his 2018-19 campaign with Mornar Bar.
“The truth is that I love a fast game but above all I love basketball. I hope we achieve great things with Monaco,” added the newcomer, “Marcos Knight and I are coming off a great season in Germany. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of my new teammates.”
Prior to his short jump to Baskonia and going through the team’s training camp before parting ways due to passport issues generated by the coronavirus pandemic, the left-handed combo guard posted 17.2 points per appearance in Germany sinking 42.3% of his threes. He also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.0 steals.
The updated La Roca Team squad consists of Carrington, Knight, Dee Bost, Yohan Choupas, Damien Inglis, Wesley Saunders, Abdoulaye Ndoye, Will Yeguete, Darral Willis, and J. J. O’Brien.
