Although Promitheas managed to turn the tables early on and seemed to be in control, Gran Canaria took it back in the fourth quarter (28-14) on their way to an 86-75 road win in Group D.
Jacob Wiley led the way with 22 points on 10-13 shooting while Andrew Albicy followed with 17 and Amedeo Della Valle with 11 points.
For Promitheas, Ian Miller was carrying the burden with 27 points on 5-10 from deep while Charis Giannopoulos helped with 16 and Danny Agbelese with 14 points. Agbelese also grabbed 12 rebounds.
In another clash, Nanterre 92 managed to survive the close finish against Cedevita Olimpija and log a 76-74 home win.
Isaiah Cordinier was the top scorer with 20 points as well as ten boards while Dwight Buyucks added 14 and Alpha Kaba ten points. Kaba also grabbed 15 rebounds.
For Cedevita Olimpija, Kendrick Perry had 21 points in addition to Jaka Blazic’s 19 points and nine boards. Edo Muric scored 12 points.
Yesterday, Jacorey Williams and Gary Browne logged double-doubles leading Trento past Bursaspor.
