Isaiah Whitehead drained the 3-pointer at (almost) the buzzer of overtime as Mornar Bar beat Buducnost in a first-ever all-Montenegrin EuroCup showdown. The American player finished with 18 points.
Jacob Pullen led Mornar Bar overall with 23 points and five assists. Kenny Gabriel added 13 points and eight rebounds.
For Buducnost, Melvin Ejim had 16 points and seven rebounds for Buducnost while Willie Reed posted a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
After the game, Mornar Bar head coach Mihailo Pavicevic had an emotional reaction to his team’s win.
In Ulm, Unicaja Malaga defeated local Ratiopharm 81 – 76, powered by Francis Alonso’s 21 points and with Deon Thompson contributing 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Dylan Osetwoski had 17 points and seven boards for Ulm.
Rob Gray dropped 16 points, Anthony Brown had 14 points plus six rebounds and Vitalis Chikoko pitched in 13 points and six boards as Boulogne Metropolitans downed Brescia 75 – 70. Dusan Ristic (14 points), Drew Crawford (13 points) and Will Cherry (10 points, 10 assists) stood out for the hosts.
