Lokomotiv Kuban announced Tuesday that Alan Williams underwent surgery in Moscow and set his initial recovery timetable at approximately six months.
Williams, 27, suffered the presumably season-ending left knee injury in the fourth quarter of the VTB United League road game against Enisey Krasnoyarsk held Sunday. Tests done Monday at the Russian capital confirmed the worst fears in a patellar tendon rupture.
The former UC Santa Barbara standout was off to a great start in his second season with Loko. He averaged 14.5 points and 12.5 points per 7DAYS EuroCup game heavily assisting in clinching a Top 16 spot, also clocked in 22.1 points per VTB contest.
