Josh Perkins joining Partizan

GTK Gliwice and Partizan NIS agreed on the buyout for the contract of Josh Perkins and the 25-year-old American point guard will move to Serbia.

“Telephones with initial proposals appeared already in November. I agreed with the player’s agent that we were only interested in specific proposals, but only those that will be satisfactory for the club and will allow for relatively painless corrections in the composition. At the same time, we were expecting full commitment on the part of the player and at this point, it must be admitted that Josh did his best to the end,” the club president explained.

The Gonzaga alumni played 18 games for the Polish team this season, averaging 13.6 points, 6.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 30 minutes.

“It wasn’t an easy decision, but subconsciously, I felt it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss. I liked it very much in Poland and I met many nice people. We had a really good team but sometimes we just lacked repetition and consistency. I will always remember my teammates and all those new Polish words that have found my way into my dictionary. I wish GTK all the best and remind my friends about Snapchat,” Perkins said, with a small joke at the end.
