Milos Teodosic grabbed the 7DAYS EuroCup MVP honors for the second consecutive campaign with his all-around contribution, averaging 14.6 points, 6.4 assists and 18.4 PIR in less than 25 minutes.
It’s no secret that he’s a magician when it comes to dishing passes and he considers assisting his teammates to be the greatest moments.
“It’s a question I get asked a lot, but I don’t change my opinion. When I serve an assist, two people are happy: me and my teammate. On the next assist, I will make a different teammate happy. The assist represents the greatest moment in basketball,” Teodosic said, per EuroCup Basketball.
With him at the helm, Segafredo Virtus Bologna stayed undefeated throughout the regular season with a 10-0 record.
“When you have a 10-0 record, the merit must be shared with everyone. When you arrive to a great team, the expectations are certainly high. Whoever arrives knows that he must give his best and put himself at the service of the team and his teammates.”
As much will be expected from Marco Belinelli who joined the team recently and Teodosic has no doubt that the former Spurs guard will step up.
“Marco’s qualities are unquestionable. He is a great addition, not only for Segafredo but also for European basketball as a whole. We have just started playing together. Wait a little longer and then you will see.”
The next challenge will be the Top 16 phase and Teo warns that things will only get harder going forward.
“At this stage of the competition, every game counts more and we will have to be good at avoiding missteps. Whoever has gained access to the Top 16 has shown they belong at this level. We will have to be particularly good at not giving chances to our opponents,” he said and picked out three teams as main competitors. “Joventut Badalona, Unicaja Malaga and UNICS Kazan.”
