Unicaja Malaga announced that head coach Luis Casimiro has been fired. The Spanish club took the decision following a board of directors meeting that took place Wednesday (20/1) and following the team’s 90 – 71 defeat to AS Monaco.
This loss was the ninth for Malaga in the last 10 games in EuroCup and the Spanish ACB League, which prompted the club to proceed with Casimiro’s dismissal.
Casimiro had taken over Malaga in 2018.
Fotis Katsikaris has signed a contract with Unicaja Malaga to become the team’s new head coach, according to Juan Calderon.
