Despite the 10-0 start by Joventut Badalona, AS Monaco quickly consolidated and eventually took over in the second half for a 97-82 home win in 7DAYS EuroCup.
Rob Gray and Jaleel O’Brien were the main force behind Monaco’s run with 23 and 21 points respectively while Dee Bost added 17 and Marcos Knight 16 points. Bost also dished 11 assists.
For Joventut, Nenad Dimitrijevic scored 15 and Joel Parra 14 points. Conor Morgan helped with 11 points.
With this outcome, both teams now hold a 3-1 record in Group E and Monaco has now taken over the top due to the tiebreaker advantage. Joventut had a seven-point margin advantage from the first match.
Meanwhile, after parting ways with coach Nicola Brienza, Dolomiti Energia Trento logged a 67-57 win against Boulogne Metropolitans 92.
Former assistant coach Emanuele Molin was leading the team from the bench as Luke Maye scored 15 in addition to Jacorey Williams, Jeremy Morgan and Gary Browne all scoring 12 points.
On the opposing side, David Michineau and Bastien Pinault scored 11 points each. The team couldn’t count on Miralem Halilovic who has suffered a season-ending injury.
This was a much-needed win for Trento which has improved to 2-2 in Group F and handed Metropolitans their first loss at this stage (3-1).
