Former EuroCup champion with Valencia Guillem Vives is back to where he began his career: Joventut Badalona, as the Spanish club announced.

Joventut Badalona added size and experience to its backcourt by inking homegrown playmaker Guillem Vives to a two-year deal with an option for another season, the club announced Thursday. Vives (1.92 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Valencia Basket, where he played in the last seven seasons. He averaged 4.5 points and 2.3 assists in 26 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games in the 2020-21 campaign. Vives helped Valencia win the EuroCup title in 2019 and lifted the Spanish League trophy in 2017.
He also helped Valencia to the EuroCup final and won the Spanish SuperCup in 2017. Vives returns to his former club, as he started his career with Joventut and also played for its affiliated team, Prat, before joining Valencia in 2014. Vives has been a member of the Spanish national team, with which he won a gold medal at EuroBasket 2015 and a bronze medal at EuroBasket 2017. Vives was also successful in youth categories with Spain; he won a gold medal at the 2011 U18 European Championship and a bronze medal at the 2013 U20 European Championship. In 64 EuroCup games with Valencia, Vives amassed 312 points (4.9 ppg.) and 183 assists (2.9 apg.).
Another high-aspiring EuroCup team signed a new player Thursday (1/7). Lokomotiv Kuban announced the addition of combo guard Darius Thompson who comes from Happy Casa Brindisi and the Italian League.
