Novica Velickovic has retired, he revealed to Mozzart Sport.
Velickovic, 34, was named captain at Partizan in 2016, a few months in his second stint at the storied Serbian club. He ended up becoming the player ranking first in the all-time list of most games played, among other distinctions.
Apart from cementing his legacy at Partizan with several ABA and domestic titles, he made his way to Real Madrid, Mega Vizura, Brose Bamberg, and Trabzonspor. He also represented Serbia at the senior level in major tournaments from 2007 to 2011 and returned last season for the EuroBasket qualifiers.
Partizan is already heading towards an exciting season with Zeljko Obradovic back in charge nearly three decades after concluding his first run as head coach. The team is set to compete in the 7DAYS EuroCup, ABA League, and the Serbian league.
