Victor Claver will return to Valencia Basket, the team he started his pro career at and spent the first six years (2006-12) with, the club announced.
Per Valencia Basket:
Valencia Basket has reached an agreement to incorporate Spanish international forward Víctor Claver (2.08m, Valencia, 08/30/1988, 32 years old) to its first men’s squad for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2024.
The player arrives after leaving Barça, a team with which last season he was champion of the Liga Endesa and the King’s Cup and finalist in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. He played in the taronja squad since the U14 category, Claver made his professional debut in the ranks of Valencia Basket in October 2006 and played with our first men’s team a total of 241 games in six seasons, lifting the EuroCup title in 2010, before to leave the discipline of the taronja team in the summer of 2012 to become the first Valencian to play in the NBA.
After three seasons in the best league in the world, a stint in Russia and five seasons at Barça, Claver is back where it all began for the next step in his career. The Valencian forward is concentrated with the Spanish team for their participation in the Tokyo Olympics. Since 2009 Claver has been a fixture in the national team, with which he has won 7 medals in international tournaments (including gold in the 2019 World Cup and three Eurobasket titles) and where this summer he can enter the Top-20 of players with more games played with Spain.
