Virtus Segafredo Bologna has brought in Marco Ceron to complete the 2021-22 roster, the team announced Friday.

The 7DAYS EuroCup team led by Sergio Scariolo is fresh off landing Nico Mannion. Previous summer signing feature Mouhammadou Jaiteh, Ekpe Udoh, Kevin Hervey, and Michele Ruzzier, while Awudu Abass, Kyle Weems, and Milos Teodosic have re-signed.

Per the press release: “Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.A. announces that it has reached an agreement with Marco Ceron.

Statements from Luca Baraldi, CEO of Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna: “With the arrival of Ceron we close the Virtus market. I believe that Marco can give an important contribution in terms of experience and that he completes our roster in a definitive way. On behalf of Virtus Segafredo Bologna we welcome Marco to the Virtus family”.

195cm guard, Marco Ceron was born in Mirano on June 16, 1992.

After his youth in Treviso, Ceron is transferred on loan first to Recanati and then to Napoli. In the 2014/2015 season, he wears the Reyer’s jersey and then moves to Pesaro. He plays with the Marche team for three seasons until 2018, becomes captain and closes out his experience on the Adriatic coast with an average of almost 6 points. In the following two seasons, he wears Brescia’s jersey and debuts in the EuroCup.

With the Italian National team, he was a staple of the youth selections, until he won the silver medal at the under-20 European Championship in 2011.

Virtus Segafredo Bologna officially welcomes Marco Ceron to the big black-and-white family.”
