Vince Hunter has inked a one-year deal with Metropolitans 92, the team announced Saturday.
Hunter, 27, was recently released by Virtus Segafredo Bologna after a failed drug test. His experience with the Italian team included his first 37 appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup. He posted 9.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks per 2020-21 game.
The former UTEP standout has made his way to four NBA matches with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2017-18. He also logged eight games played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Panathinaikos OPAP and helped AEK win the Basketball Champions League in 2018.
His next EuroCup challenge shifts him to France for the first time in his career. He became the fifth summer addition for his new side following Bandja Sy, Will Cummings, Keith Hornsby, and Steeve Ho You Fat.
Hunter will remain suspended by Italy’s NADO (National Anti-Doping Organization) until 10 September. He is projected to be available for the start of the 2021-22 editions of both EuroCup and Betclic League.
