Gran Canaria’s Andrew Albicy is sidelined due to a right leg injury, the team announced Friday.
Albicy, 31, at the beginning of this week, tipped off his second season at the Spanish team after helping France capture the silver medals in the recent Olympic Games held in Tokyo. However, he was forced to leave a joint preseason practice with discomfort in his leg. A timetable for his return will be determined upon further medical evaluation.
The French point guard logged 6.5 points, 5.2 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game helping Gran Canaria reach the 7DAYS EuroCup Semifinals last season. In addition, he averaged 7.7 points per ACB match.
