Balsa Koprivica (21, 2,16m.) returns to Serbia for Partizan and joins the ranks of the Zeljko Obradovic-led project, as Mozzartsports reports. It’s kind of a reunion for Koprivica, who started playing basketball in Partizan before moving to the USA to play in Nova Southwestern high school back in 2012 when he was just 14 years old.
Plus, his father, Slavisa Koprivica was a member of the 1992 Partizan team, which won the EuroLeague title, when Obradovic was on his rookie year as a coach.
“In the coming days, we will announce the name of the player who will be proof that Partizan is a good place for the development of domestic basketball players,” tweeted the president of the club Ostoja Mijailovic and practically announced the arrival of the young player.
The former Florida State center is expected to have a key role in the roster and may end up being the last piece for Partizan, which aims to win the EuroCup and secure a spot in the EuroLeague for the 2022-23 season.
Koprivica was the 57 pick of the recent NBA draft, his rights belong to Detroit and in his last year in college, he averaged 9.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.3 steals, 1.4 blocks in 19.5 minutes.
