Talks between French guard Isaïa Cordinier and Virtus Bologna have finally reached a happy end, as the two sides have agreed to a two-year deal per Eurohoops sources. Virtus announced the signing on the 6th of October.

The deal between Cordinier and Virtus includes both an NBA-out option in the summer, plus a EuroLeague-out in case the Italian team doesn’t make it to the EuroLeague next season. It should be noted that the former Nanterre 92 guard has drawn EuroLeague interest in the offseason.

The 24-year-old guard had a break-out season in 7DAYS EuroCup with Nanterre and he has also been included in the All-EuroCup First Team in 2021, after averaging 15.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in the 2020-21 campaign.

Cordinier was selected the 44th pick in the 2016 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks before the Nets acquired his rights via a trade in 2018, which they renounced in mid-September.

Τhe interest was first reported by Walla’s Arale Weisberg and the upcoming deal by Dylan De Abreu.
