Quinn Cook has penned a deal with Lokomotiv Kuban for the remainder of the 2021-22 season, the team announced Tuesday.
Cook, 28, was left without a team in the NBA after being waived by the Portland Trail Blazers ten days ago. He logged 3.5 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assists over two Preseason appearances.
He previously went through stints at the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Cleveland Cavaliers, including the 2018 and 2020 championships with the Warriors and Lakers, respectively. His NBA experience amounts to 228 games, including 40 Playoff tilts. Splitting the 2020-21 NBA Regular Season between the Lakers and Cavaliers, he registered 3.3 points, 0.8 assists, and 0.7 rebounds per match.
Coming out of Oak Hill Academy and after representing the USA at the junior international level, Cook played for Duke from 2011 to 2015 averaging career totals of 11.0 points, 3.6 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game and was crowned NCAA champion in his senior season. He went undrafted but found the path to the NBA after spending his first pro season in the G League as a leading player of the Canton Charge. Forward six years, he moves his talents to the 7DAYS EuroCup and VTB United League.
His new team, led by experienced Russian head coach Evgeny Pashutin, is 1-0 in Group A of EuroCup thanks to last week’s win over MoraBanc Andorra. Action resumes versus Lietkabelis at Panevezys tonight, Tuesday. A 2-2 record makes out the VTB campaign so far.
