Mike Tobey scored 16 points and had eight rebounds in his EuroCup season debut as Valencia beat Reyer Venezia 81 – 67 on the road.
The game marked Tobey’s return to action after being sidelined since the beginning of the season and undergoing pubis surgery in early November. He was a starter and scored 10 of his points in less than four minutes as Valencia took an early 2-15 lead.
Valencia never trailed in the remainder of the game. Klemen Prepelic added 17 points (5-15 shots) and Louis Labeyrie had 12 points and six rebounds for the Spanish side.
In the other Group B game that was held Tuesday (7/12), JL Bourg dominated Bursaspor at home for a 95-65 victory. Pierre Pelos scored 20 points for the winning squad while adding seven rebounds and three assists.
Pelos accumulated a total PIR of 28 and was followed right behind by Calvin Harris Jr with 26 PIR and Axel Julien with 22 PIR. Both scored 16 points each.
On the opposing side, Allerik Freeman scored 20 and Egemen Guven 15 points.
With these outcomes, Valencia improved to a 4-2 record while JL Bourg, Bursaspor, and Reyer Venice all stand at 2-4.
