Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar announced Thursday that head coach Evgeny Pashutin has stepped down from the team. This decision comes shortly after the team’s 100-82 defeat against the Hamburg Towers in Round 7 of the 7DAYS EuroCup.
Per the team’s announcement, Branko Maksimovic will take over the bench.
“We would like to thank Evgeny Pashutin for his fruitful work over two and a half seasons. He led the team during the challenging times associated with the pandemic and has had some success”, said Lokomotiv president Andrey Vedishschev. “However, recently – already for quite a long time – Loko did not show the required level of play, defense and rotation. And this situation forced us to make this decision. I hope our fans will take this news with understanding. Branko Maksimovic will lead the team in the next matches”.
This was Pashutin’s second stint with Lokomotiv. He reunited with the club in 2019, after his first run (2012-2014) resulted in a EuroCup title in 2013.
