The first EuroCup game of 2022 included a superb individual performance courtesy of Caleb Homesley. The American wing delivered 29 points, a career-high 11 rebounds and six assists to lead Hamburg Towers to a 93 – 73 win over Turk Telekom in a Group A game.
This result improved Hamburg to 4-5. Turk Telekom is now 5-4.
Homesley shot 7-10 3-pointers and together with Ray McCallum (21 points, five assists) tore apart Turk Telekom’s defense. Both players scored 15 of their points in the first half to help the Towers to to the locker room with a 50 – 34 advantage.
Telekom couldn’t keep up with its opponents and fell behind even by 26, when Homesley drained a triple for the 68 – 42 late in the third period. The hosts retained an advantage of around 20 points for the remainder of the match.
Anthony Clemmons finished with 14 points (4-11 shots), eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals for Turk Telekom. Erdi Gulaslan had 11 points.
