Gran Canaria announced that its player John Shurna has been diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia after medical follow-ups.
Shurna has suffered an infection in both lungs as a result of complications caused by his recent COVID-19 infection.
The 31-year-old power forward has been improving health-wise but remains under strict medical monitoring and will be out indefinitely, depending on the further evolution of his condition.
Shurna played a total of 22 games for Gran Canaria this season, across the 7DAYS EuroCup and the Spanish league, averaging 9.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 25 minutes.
