Lietkabelis led by as many as 25 points in the third quarter to upset Partizan and grab a 93-78 victory at home upon their return to 7DAYS EuroCup action Wednesday.
Gediminas Orelik and Djordje Gagic combined for 42 points for the Lithuanian side, dropping 21 points and 5 rebounds each, Vytenis Lipkevicius added 14 points, Kristupas Zemaitis had 11 points and 8 assists and Panagiotis Kalaitzakis was added to the list of top scorers with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
The hosts took control in the second quarter to gain a double-digit lead and never looked back since, to even the series against the Serbian side (Partizan won their Round 5 meeting 84-77).
Lietkabelis extended its winning streak to two games in EuroCup to improve to a 7-6 record and solidified well into the playoffs zone with four rounds left into the regular season.
Kevin Punter led Zeljko Obradovic‘s squad with 20 points, Rade Zagorac tapped 16 points and Yam Madar had 12. Partizan, which has already qualified to the next round of the competition slipped to a 9-5 record in Group A.
