Virtus Bologna veteran shooting guard Marco Belinelli will miss the remainder of the regular season as he suffered a hamstring injury on his left thigh, the Italian club announced Friday.
Belinelli, 35, sustained said injury during Virtus’ Wednesday game against Umana Reyer Venice for 7DAYS EuroCup and is expected to be sidelined for 40 days, roughly six weeks.
Virtus is currently placed 4th in EuroCup Group B with an 8-6 record and is playoffs bound with four games remaining in the regular season.
Belinelli is among the top contributors for the Italian club this season, with an average of 12.4 points, 2.8 assists and 1.2 rebounds across 20:14 on the court in 12 EuroCup contests.
