Virtus Bologna used a third-quarter rally to triumph over JL Bourg on the road 90-68 and complete the sweep at the 7DAYS EuroCup regular-season finale. With this victory, Virtus improved to 11-7 and awaits the final games of Groups A and B to learn its playoff pair.
Daniel Hackett led all scorers with 17 points, while Jakarr Sampson tied his season-best with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Kevin Hervey followed with 13 points, Mam Jaiteh added 11, and Milos Teodosic dished a game-high 9 assists to go along with 6 points.
Bourg took an early lead in the game, which was extended to 10 points at halftime (47-37). A 27-8 run by the visitors in the third quarter was enough to change the momentum of the game, while they retained a double-digit lead for most of the final quarter.
Calvin Harris Jr. had 12 points to pace Bourg and Axel Julien added 10 points and 5 assists. The French team ends this season’s run with a 6-12 record.
Buducnost VOLI Podgorica survived a thriller over Frutti Extra Bursaspor on the road and escaped with an 89-86 win to snap a two-game skid at the final round of the regular season.
Justin Cobbs scored 21 points and Kendrick Perry added 19 for the winners, while Edin Atic followed with 14 points and Zoran Nikolic had 11. Buducnost improved to a 10-8 record and has locked the 5th seed in Group B.
Andrew Andrews scored a game-high 26 points to keep Bursaspor competitive in the final minutes, though his efforts weren’t enough to keep the team’s four-game winning streak alive. Bursa ends the regular season with an 8-10 record.
Valencia grabbed a morale-boosting 103-71 victory over ratiopharm Ulm at home to secure the 2nd seed of Group B and snap a two-game skid.
Bojan Dubljevic took control for the hosts, scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Mike Tobey added 16 points. Jaime Pradilla came close to double-double figures with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Louis Labeyrie stepped up with 14 points.
Karim Jallow scored 19 points for Ulm, Fedor Zugic added 13, and Moritz Krimmer posted 11 points. The Germans have dropped to 7-11 and remain in the 8th seed.
