Nizhny Novgorod will play without Eric Maynor, who suffered a torn ligament injury and will be out of action until March. The American point-guard was injured during the match against Riga for the VTB United League and the medical tests confirmed the initial concerns.
As both Taylor Rochestie and Gal Mekel were let go, Maynor was expected to be one of the Russian team’s leaders this season, however after this unfortunate turn of events, Nizhny needs to find a replacement. It’s also worth mentioning that this is the second time in his career that the 28-year-old player suffers a torn ligament injury.
