In light of Quin Snyder stepping down from his role in the Utah Jazz assistant coach Erdem Can is moving back to Turkey with Turk Telekom, the Turkish club announced Friday. Can has signed a two-year deal with the team, with an NBA-out option for next summer.

The 41-year-old coach has served as an assistant in Turk Telekom between 2008 and 2010 and for the second time in his career he will take on head coach duties in his native, Turkey.

Prior to making the jump to the NBA in 2021, Can coached Eskesehir (2010-2012) and served as a long-term assistant coach in Fenerbahce for nearly a decade (2012-2021).

Turk Telekom recently parted ways with Henrik Rodl, who joined the team this past season. The club ended the 2021-22 campaign at the 12th spot of the Turkish BSL with an overall 12-18 record and made it through the 7DAYS EuroCup eightfinals where they got eliminated by Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana.
